What kind of music should I expect?
Although all wedding sets are tailored to specific tastes of individual couples, the most well received sets are ones where I’m given the freedom to read the room and build a flow during my set with the music in my collection that I love and am comfortable with. You can find some Spotify playlists below that give a small overview of the types of music I typically play at wedding; during the dance floor and also earlier during dinner and pre-reception drinks.
Although every wedding is different, at a typical Forever Grooves wedding set you can expect to hear lots of funk, soul, loungey disco and world flavours, getting the crowd warmed up for a dance. Once the dance floor kicks off, there will likely be some oldies classics, loads of disco, and especially once the night progresses, plenty of house and 90’s/2000’s classics. Don’t be surprised if you hear some rock, hip-hop and unexpected curveballs in the set either!

High quality portable P.A speaker (often much better suited for music than celebrant speaker)
Coordinating with the celebrant to ensure a smooth and seamless ceremony.
Vinyl Package
Soundcheck to ensure turntables are levelled and properly isolated to minimal chance of skipping needles and turntable feedback.
Crate of vinyl records
Laptop and ‘control vinyl’ system to play songs on the turntables that aren’t in the record collection
Turntables front and centre in the booth, with digital decks off to the side for backup.
6 Hour Reception Set
Typically 3-hour dinner set and 3-hour dance floor set
Full audio coverage for entire reception, including wireless mic for MC and speeches
Soundcheck for music, and to ensure minimal chance of microphone feedback
Amazing value, especially compared to shorter set times.
Pricing
Unlike a lot of other wedding DJ’s, Forever Grooves offers upfront and transparent pricing. In an industry rife with eye watering prices, Remy prides himself on offering reasonable pricing on all wedding packages. Also, packages aren’t rigid - if you’d like to reduce or add time to a reception set, just ask! Add ons for packages will incur extra charges and travel costs are associated for locations 1hr+ from Fitzroy.
4 Hour Reception Set
Soundcheck for music, and to ensure minimal chance of microphone feedback
Dinner and dance dance floor set for reception only
*Please note- Remy is only able to play a dance floor only reception set if the dance floor area is seperate to dining (bumping in with guests)
Post Ceremony/Cocktail Package
1-2 hours in duration.
Second DJ setup and speakers in different venue location to ensure quick transition to reception.
Paired perfectly with vinyl package (funk and disco records in the afternoon sun…)
Cheaper option available for $250 (Remy won’t be DJ’ing, but will have music playing off playlist).
